What does daddy do after a long day at school??

.....sit in Avery's mess
& cuddle with his favorite girl.

Tonight we needed
to get out of the house
and be inside an air-conditioned place.
So.....
we went to:

She's so funny playing this game, she throws
the balls as hard as she can.

Avery's favorite part is putting
the coins in the slots and listening to the music.

Update:
We're surviving the heat, it's actually getting a lot better,
we could do without the crazy thunder/lightening storms that wake
all of us up in the middle of the night, but other then that we
really like our home, and we're getting to know Omaha.
We have really nice neighbors with little kiddos.
There are tons of swing sets in our little community
that Avery is obsessed with, so we go there a lot.
We need to invest in some bug spray because we get eaten alive
every time we're outside in the evening.
I'm getting used to the loud bugs, sometimes I forget they're there.

Scott's at school from about 8:00 am to 5:30 pm,
so Avery and I have lots of time to read books and play in our family room downstairs.
She's 23 months old, I can't believe my baby will be 2 next month!
She's starting to realize there is a baby in my belly, she'll say
"Baby, tummy" and kiss my belly.
And I make her rub lotion on it.
Avery's vocab is really starting to pick up,
she's learning her ABC's and sings
"ABC K LOP WXYZ, now I know ABC's....."
Every time we drive by signs with big letters she'll point and say
"ABC's!!!" Or if she doesn't want to see them she'll say
"No, ABC's".
She likes to make funny noises and say
"Avery funny"
Or if Scott or I do something funny she'll say
"Daddy funny, Mommy funny"
She loves turning off and on the lights, since she can reach most of the switches
now.
She asks to go potty and points to the bathroom door, so we've put her on the toilet,
but she hasn't gone yet, she just wants to wipe after a while and then flush
the toilet and wash her hands.
When I call her name she'll say,
"YEAH?" and it makes her sound like a 5 year old.
She's supers scared of the dark.
She loves jumping on our bed and couches, she'll put cushions on the
floor and jump on them and scream
"JUMP!"
She can be quite the broken record and repeat the same word over
and over, usually "Please" when she wants something.
She says, "Happened?" if something breaks
or if there's a loud noise.

I'm so ready to have both of my babies here.
I think Avery will do really good with the new baby, she's
loved babies and little kids forever, so I think she'll
enjoy having him around most of the time.
Guess we'll find out in 9 1/2 weeks!!!!!

It's my Birthday!

22 feels so old today.
Probably because I'm carrying the world's largest baby.
At least that's what it feels like most days.
We had a great day!
I got to sleep in until 730 am when Avery started
poking me in the eye.
I sat in my PJ's until 2pm.
Showered, got ready, went to TJMAXX and
got a cute new clock and mirror
for 1/2 bath.

And last but not least...went to the
CHEESECAKE FACTORY
where Scott bought us an
ENTIRE CHEESE CAKE.
I was able to eat about 1/4 of my dinner, due to the monster baby inside of me.
And now we're waiting at home for our food to settle so we can devour the
CHEESECAKE I've been dreaming about since
we ate there in May.

We're not in
Kennewick
anymore.

We got home on our first day in Omaha
from grocery shopping and there
was a deer eating leaves right by our parking lot.
He probably couldn't hear us over the
million crickets
that you hear outside over the TV and just about everything else.
Sometimes I feel like I live in a swamp.

Avery already misses people.
How do we know this?
She's constantly saying "draw Dallace, draw Nana, draw Ray-Ray, draw Luke, draw Nit-ney (Brittney)''...and on and on.

Here's one of our many drawings, it
almost fit all of her "friends"
(everyone she loves).

How did we keep Avery happy during the
BIG MOVE??

We went swimming.....

We wrapped all of her new books & toys to make it more exciting,
& it worked!

And we let her make as much of a mess with snacks as she wanted!

We're Here!!!

THE DRIVE:
Last Saturday, we piled into the car at 6:00 am and drove to Perry, UT. We ended up getting there around 5pm. We were so anxious to see how Avery was going to do in the car for that long, and luckily she did AMAZING. She slept until an hour before we stopped in Boise, threw up right before we ate lunch, but was still happy. Then she fell asleep until about an hour from our stop in Utah, we were so surprised! The second day, she fell asleep after about an hour of driving and then took another nap after lunch, we were all a little tired of being in the car for the last hour, but she never threw a fit, it was great! The last day of driving we only had 4 hours and she stayed up and watched movies until we got here, she was happy the whole time! We ended up passing my Grandpa, Dad and brother (who drove the UHAUL trailer, LOVE THEM!) on the free way, and they got to Omaha soon after we did.

THE PLACE:
We got into Omaha around 12:00pm and drove straight to our new house, we couldn't wait to see it! We couldn't start moving in until 1pm when we got our keys, but the maintenance guy was inside and he let us take a quick peek around. I've been looking at pics of this place for the past couple of months, it was so cool to see what it actually looked like! After we got our keys, about 5 guys from our ward, including our Bishop, showed up to help us unload. I love that even though we're so far from home, we have people in the church who are there, it made us feel so welcome!

RIGHT NOW??
Since day 2, we have been unpacking, painting, replacing light fixtures, faucets, we bought a couch, put together many pieces of furniture, and on and on. We just got done painting both bathrooms and kitchen, and our next projects are the painting the front room and cabinets in the kitchen and replacing the floor in the kitchen. I'll post before and after pics, but it's starting to feel more like home and we can't wait until it's done! I meet with my new baby doctor in 10 days and Scott has orientation next Thursday and Friday and then starts school on Monday. We're trying to figure out how to get around a bigger city, finding things like a grocery store and Costco have been interesting... but it's been fun exploring!

BABY BOY!
28 weeks

(HOW CAN IT POSSIBLY GET ANY BIGGER?)

UPDATE:
He's measuring at 3 + lbs. WOW

He can open & close his eyes, he was doing it during
the ultrasound, his eye is open in this pic!!!

I think he'll be a cuddle bug like his big sis,
his arms are always curled around his face like hers were.
We couldn't get a good 3d pic. OH WELL.

I keep putting off the dreaded glucose test, even though I only
have to eat 17 jelly beans instead of drinking
that nasty drink.

We're moving
TOMORROW.
I've heard some horror stories from other preggos who
had to be on bed-rest from taking long road trips, pre-term labor.... YIKES!
COOK BABY COOK.

I have to get bigger maternity clothes this time around,
stuff that fit while I was preggo with Avery is getting
WAY TOO TIGHT.

Still no name.
We just call him our CHUNKY MONKEY...
maybe that'll just have to do! ;)

craziness.... in about 11 1/2 weeks,
he's here!!!
