Kiddos bedroom make-over.... {PART 1}

We're going on day number 5 of this ''really easy'' project.
Luckily I married a man who enjoys making me happy... and what seems to
make me the most happy is decorating/painting rooms in our
little home.
I still have many plans for their room..but step number 1 was
getting the paint up.
I wanted something that was gender neutral, but not boring.
So I googled lots of ideas & finally after 9 months of going back & forth on ideas,
I decided on neutral paint colors & vertical stripes
to give the room some personality.
I wish I would have taken before pictures...because we hadn't touched a single thing,
well except for ripping out the carpet to expose the hard wood floors & Scott doing a random square of red sample paint, don't ask me why....
Just imagine off white walls with random nails left from the previous owner,
navy blue curtains with a cream/gold curtain rod that we've determined has been hanging since 1965 when the place was built...
& 50 year old dark, blue carpet
It was pretty bad.

Good times

We were celebrating a few things last night....
Scott starting his new job...
(we've waited 2 months to celebrate)

Scott being done with his 1st year
(Surprisingly, now that it's over...it did go by pretty fast)

Scott's 1st paycheck
(which is why we've waited 2 months...)

This weekend we planned on finishing painting our bedrooms,
going shopping for a few summer items,
& relaxing.
Instead, Scott found out he has bronchitis & Avery spent
our celebratory night in the ER.
Guess we'll try it again next weekend.

I wish Taylor & I were BFF's in real life....

Maybe it's the way she flips her hair....

Maybe its how much she loves her fans...

Maybe it was the fireworks...

It could be because she played 3 different instruments while
singing on this floating tree...

Maybe it was her 'faster than a blink of an eye' outfit changes...

It's probably because I got THIS close while she
was floating through the crowd on this balcony....

or the confetti & streamers....

It's probably because of the sincere emotion we
feel when she sings her songs...

Or maybe it was:
the ballerinas...
the dancers that told the stories of her songs...
feeling like I was watching a play/movie/concert/broadway show/tv show/lazer light show/ cirque de sole performance all AT. THE .SAME. TIME.
watching her play at least 5 different guitars, ukulele, piano & banjo
Whatever it was...
This night was seriously one of the BEST NIGHTS OF MY LIFE.
And I don't care if you're a hater of Taylor Swift.
Seriously, she's so talented.
I'm a fan forever Taylor!!!!

{Conked Out}

Don't I miss the days where I could sleep this hard, for as long as I wanted?!
I love that Jax can sleep so soundly while being held, and that he L.O.V.E.S cuddling and being loved on all the time...but I also hate that he STILL can't sleep through the night.
He's never slept through a whole night in his 7 months of life.
This week, a miracle happened. He slept for 6 hours straight (for one night)... but then the same routine of being up every couple of hours to eat and refusing to be in his bassinet happened.
I'm running out of energy from no sleep & constant feedings. We thought by now he'd be
able to do it...AH!
Good thing we REALLY love this clingy, needy, adorable, little baby.

I mean, just look at those big, soft cheeks and that slobber!

Playing Together!

Usually when I go downstairs to start laundry,
(or do any house cleaning for that matter....)
Jax will start crying because I'm out of sight &
Avery will just go on doing whatever she's doing.
But on this day...
I caught Jax & Avery playing together while I was starting some laundry
& I'm SO excited.
Hopefully times like these become more frequent.
It's so cute watching them play together.
Avery was really patient showing him the different buttons to
push, and he was loving the attention from her.
And I was loving that I was able to get
a whole bunch of laundry done while they were entertaining each other.
